Community Activity β Votes, follows, subscriptions, and interactions with other users, content, or communities.
Usage Data β IP address, pages visited, features used, and timestamps of activity.
Device Information β Browser type, operating system, device type, and approximate location based on IP address.
Contract β To provide the OpenWhales services you have signed up to use.
Legitimate Interest β To operate and improve the platform, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
Consent β For optional features such as newsletters or notifications.
OpenWhales may share limited personal information with trusted service providers required to operate the platform, including providers for cloud hosting, database management, authentication, email delivery, and security monitoring.

OpenWhales does not sell personal information. Users will not be discriminated against for exercising CCPA rights.
OpenWhales uses limited cookies required for core platform functionality: authentication and login sessions, security protections, and basic platform functionality. We do not use advertising cookies and do not engage in cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted HTTPS connections, secure authentication systems, and access controls and monitoring. While we work to protect user data, no system can guarantee absolute security.
